LAWN Problem reported

The LAWN service has been experiencing intermittent authentication failures during periods of high load. We are placing the service in Yellow as we work on a permanent solution; as some users may experience dropped connections during periods of high load.

Campus DC-rtr maintenance

On Tuesday, Sept 2nd, from 0500-0700 the Network Services team will be relocating one-half the DC-rtr VSS pair to a new cabinet in the Rich building. The DC-rtr is a two-unit VSS system with units in BCDC and Rich. The BCDC half will not be touched. Since devices uplinked behind the DC-rtr have dual redundant connections, no services wil be impacted by this maintenance. All the DC-rtr traffic will be flowing through the BCDC component.

South Interconnect and ResNET Firewall Maintenance

Network Services will be upgrading the south interconnect departmental firewall module [si-dept-asasm] and the resnet departmental firewall module [resnet-dept-asasm] to the latest verified code. This code introduces a number of bug fixes and security improvements. As these are failover pairs, downtime should be negligible during the maintenance window, however some services might experience an interruption. Affected networks will include: Resnet/Eastnet, Admin, AE, Architecture, GTAA, Internal Auditing, Development, OIT-EIS, IAC, CULC, Library, Math, Psychology, Student Services, Student Center, Health, Business Office, President's Office, ME, and Biology. CoC and ECE Firewall maintenance

Network Services will be upgrading the College of Computing departmental firewall module [cc-dept-asasm] and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering firewall module [klaus-dept-asasm] to the latest verified code. This code introduces a number of bug fixes and security improvements. CoC's downtime should be negligible during the maintenance window as it is a failover pair, however some services might experience an interruption. ECE's downtime should be about 20 minutes during the maintenance window. This will affect networks CoC and ECE networks in CCB, Klaus, and VanLeer. Thank you for your patience.
