Campus Network OK

Starting at a little bit after 5p on Tuesday 9/9, the campus network experienced slow connectivity from on campus to off campus. OIT staff were contacted and began investigating the situation. As of 18:10, campus network connectivy from on campus to off has improved greatly. While troubleshooting the problem, OIT reset key network connections which led to the increased performance. No root cause of the issue has been found, but OIT will continue to investigate. If you have questions or concerns please contact the TSC at 404-894-7173 or OIT Operations at 404-894-4669.

LAWN Problem reported

The LAWN service has been experiencing intermittent authentication failures during periods of high load. We are placing the service in Yellow as we work on a permanent solution; as some users may experience dropped connections during periods of high load.

The appliances that serve as the campus VPN service, anyc.vpn.gatech.edu and ipsec.vpn.gatech.edu, are being refreshed with new hardware. The outage will be minimal but all users will have their sessions disconnected during the maintenance window.
